Craig’s Van Removals – Packing Tips & Requirements

  • Please be 100% packed for the trucks arrival – please do not underestimate the amount of time it takes to pack up your house. Minimum needed is usually a week, often much longer.
  • We will keep you posted regarding arrival time, and will communicate in this regards a couple of days before.
  • The team will not pack any loose smalls that are not boxed or bagged, for your protection and ours.
  • Please use same-sized boxes as far as possible to make the best us of truck space
  • Linnen and cushions can be bagged in black bin bags – if they are thin bags, please double bag.
  • Lamp shades should be removed from lamps, and boxed please – these damage easily otherwise. The stands can then also be boxed, unless a tall standing lamp
  • Crockery boxes : please use double walled boxes or black plastic tub crates as far as possible, due to weight. If using single walled boxes, please pack even with lighter Tupperware
  • Fridges and freezers must please be emptied before arrival – if a long distance trip, these must also be defrosted
  • Laundry bins can be used to pack in bathroom goods / towels – the extra space is useful
  • We use blankets to cover furniture – if you prefer anything wrapped, please specify this before hand so that we can bring the relevant wrapping – we will quote on this as it is a direct expense
  • The same applies to beds – we can either purchase plastic sleeves for mattresses and bases, for which we will charge; Or as a good option you can leave your fitted sheet on the mattresses, as these can easily be washed
  • Pot plants do risk cracking when being transported, if hairline cracks exist. Tape around the plants can prevent this to a degree. If you are concerned about the foliage, you may wish to use the white garden poly bags or hessian to wrap around the foliage.

HAPPY PACKING – WE HOPE YOU FIND SOME JOY IN THIS ADVERNTURE!

REGARDS, MEGAN & CRAIG ALLAN
